Interview Yen Terms of Service

Welcome to Interview Yen, a product of Founder Manage LLC (WY) (“Interview Yen,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Interview Yen’s AI-powered interview copilot mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must discontinue using the Service immediately.
1. Introduction
Interview Yen provides an AI-powered mobile application that assists users during technical interviews through real-time audio transcription, intelligent answer suggestions, and automated note-taking. The Service is available on iOS and Android platforms. Interview Yen is built in partnership with InterviewZen, a proctoring and monitoring platform — see Section 13 for details on this relationship.
By using the Service, you confirm that you:
- Have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.
- Are authorized to enter into these Terms.
- Understand that Interview Yen is an assistance tool and does not guarantee interview outcomes.
- Acknowledge that continued use after changes to these Terms constitutes acceptance of such changes.
2. Definitions
- “Service”: Interview Yen’s AI-powered interview copilot mobile application and related backend services.
- “User”: Any individual accessing or using the Service.
- “Local Data”: Transcripts, AI-generated answers, meeting notes, and session history stored on your device.
- “Transient Data”: Audio chunks temporarily processed for transcription and immediately discarded.
- “Account Data”: Your name, email, and subscription status.
3. Eligibility and Account Registration
3.1 Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years of age or meet the age of majority in your jurisdiction.
- Use of the Service must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
3.2 Account Responsibilities
- You are responsible for providing accurate account information.
- Account credentials must be kept secure.
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized account access.
3.3 Account Restrictions
- Interview Yen reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms.
4. License Grant and Restrictions
4.1 License Grant
Interview Yen grants a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the mobile application for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.
4.2 License Restrictions
You may not:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application.
- Use the Service for unlawful purposes.
- Redistribute, sell, lease, or sublicense the application.
- Use automated tools to access or interact with the Service beyond normal app usage.
5. Description of Service
Interview Yen provides:
5.1 Real-Time Transcription
- Audio capture and speech-to-text conversion using Whisper AI.
- Transcripts are generated on-device and stored locally.
5.2 AI Answer Suggestions
- Automatic detection of technical questions and coding problems.
- AI-generated answers with working code samples.
- Pinned problem display for quick reference.
5.3 Smart Meeting Notes
- Automated timestamped notes with summaries and key points.
- Full session transcript available for review after interviews.
5.4 Local-First Architecture
- All transcripts, notes, and AI-generated content are stored on your device.
- Audio is processed transiently and never permanently stored on our servers.
6. Subscription Fees and Billing
6.1 Free Tier
- Interview Yen offers a free tier with core transcription and basic AI features.
6.2 Paid Plans
- Pro and Premium plans are available via in-app purchase through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
- Billing is managed entirely by your app store platform.
6.3 Refunds
- Refund requests must be directed to Apple or Google per their respective refund policies.
- Interview Yen does not directly process payments or issue refunds.
7. User Responsibilities
You acknowledge and agree that:
- Interview Yen is a tool for interview assistance and preparation. You are solely responsible for how you use it.
- You are responsible for complying with any applicable rules, agreements, or policies of the organizations conducting your interviews.
- Interview Yen does not guarantee that using the Service will result in successful interview outcomes.
- You will not use the Service to engage in any activity that violates applicable laws.
8. Intellectual Property
8.1 Our Property
The Interview Yen application, including its design, code, AI models, and branding, is the intellectual property of Founder Manage LLC.
8.2 Your Content
You retain ownership of any content you create or generate using the Service, including transcripts and notes stored on your device.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:
- The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
- Transcription or AI-generated answers will be accurate or complete.
- The Service will meet your specific requirements or expectations.
10. Limitation of Liability
- Interview Yen’s total liability is limited to the subscription fees you have paid in the past 12 months.
- In no event shall Interview Yen be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
- Interview Yen is not liable for any consequences resulting from your use of AI-generated answers or transcriptions during interviews.
11. Termination
- You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support@interviewyen.com.
- We may terminate accounts for violations of these Terms.
- Upon termination, your account data will be deleted within 30 days. Local data on your device remains under your control.
12. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy for details on how we collect, use, and protect your information.
13. Relationship with InterviewZen
Interview Yen is built in partnership with InterviewZen, a proctoring and monitoring platform for technical interviews. Both products are operated by Founder Manage LLC. We build Interview Yen to stress-test and advance what proctoring systems should detect, making the entire technical hiring ecosystem stronger.
Important: Your Interview Yen data is never shared with InterviewZen. No transcripts, audio, or personal information crosses product boundaries. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
14. Dispute Resolution
- All disputes will be resolved via arbitration in Nevada, USA, under applicable arbitration rules.
- Users agree to waive the right to participate in class action or collective legal proceedings.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, USA. Any legal proceedings must take place in Nevada courts.
16. Force Majeure
Interview Yen is not liable for disruptions caused by circumstances beyond its control, including natural disasters, cyberattacks, or third-party service outages.
17. Changes to Terms
Interview Yen reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
